Certified and experienced divers are welcome to bring their own camera. However, we recommend that new or inexperienced divers focus first on developing good buoyancy control and feeling comfortable underwater before using a camera. Upon request and whenever possible, our guides can take photos during the dive with a GoPro. This is an optional service available at an additional charge.
Alternatively, you can rent a GoPro from us for €35 to take your own photos and videos during the dive. The same recommendations mentioned above apply: you should be a certified diver with sufficient experience, good buoyancy control and feel comfortable underwater before using a camera. This allows you to enjoy the dive safely without the camera becoming a distraction.

The minimum age to experience scuba diving is 8 years. Children aged 8 and 9 can join our PADI Bubblemaker program, a fun and safe introduction to scuba diving in shallow water with a maximum depth of 2 metres.
From the age of 10, children can participate in a Discover Scuba Diving experience and enjoy their first real scuba dive under the direct supervision of one of our instructors. From age 10, it is also possible to start the PADI Junior Open Water Diver course, subject to the applicable age-related depth limits and requirements.
For all young divers, safety, comfort and individual supervision are our priority, and the activity is always adapted to the child’s age, confidence and abilities.
The maximum depth depends on the diver’s certification. For the experience of deeper dives we offer the PADI speciality course Deep Diving.

Discover Scuba Diving participants dive to a maximum depth of 12 metres, while certified Open Water Divers can dive to a maximum of 18 metres. Advanced Open Water Divers can dive to a maximum of 30 metres, provided they have the appropriate training and experience. Divers with the relevant Deep Diving certification may dive to a maximum recreational depth of 40 metres.
For Junior divers, specific age-related depth limits apply. We always plan our dives according to each diver’s certification, experience and comfort level, as well as the conditions on the day. Safety and enjoyment always come before reaching a particular depth.
Yes, we offer Nitrox for certified Enriched Air Nitrox divers. Nitrox is available at an additional charge and can be used on suitable dives, depending on the planned dive profile and availability.
If you are not yet Nitrox certified, you can also complete the PADI Enriched Air Nitrox course with us. We also offer combined Open Water Diver + Nitrox and Advanced Open Water Diver + Nitrox courses, making it easy to add the Nitrox certification to your training.
No, we do not rent out scuba equipment for unguided diving. For safety, liability and equipment-control reasons, our rental equipment is only available for dives conducted with Gran Canaria Divers. This allows us to ensure that tanks, regulators and other equipment are used correctly, handled appropriately and remain under our supervision.
When diving at sites close to Puerto de Mogán, we normally return to our dive centre between dives. This gives you the opportunity to relax on land, use the bathroom and showers, enjoy a coffee, tea or a small snack, while we prepare fresh tanks for the second dive.
For dive sites further away, such as Pasito Blanco, we usually stay on the boat during the surface interval. We change the tanks on board and take a relaxed break before the second dive.
We always make sure that the surface interval is long enough for a safe and comfortable second dive and plan it according to the dives and conditions of the day.
Yes, family members or friends are welcome to join you on the boat as non-diving passengers, subject to available space. A supplement per person applies, as shown in our price list.
For safety reasons, all passengers must be able to swim. Children may join as passengers from the age of 12 and must also be able to swim. Availability always depends on the planned dive, sea conditions and capacity on the boat.
Please bring your own drinking water and adequate sun protection, such as sunscreen, a hat and suitable clothing, as you may be exposed to the sun while waiting on the boat.
The waters around Gran Canaria are home to a great variety of marine life. Depending on the dive site and season, you may encounter colourful parrotfish, trumpetfish, barracudas, groupers, moray eels, rays, octopuses, cuttlefish, seahorses and large schools of different fish species.
With a little luck, you may also spot angel sharks, turtles or other less frequently encountered species.
Every dive is different and, of course, marine life can never be guaranteed – that is part of what makes diving in the Atlantic so exciting.
You do not need to be a strong swimmer to try scuba diving. Underwater, you move mainly with your fins, so advanced swimming skills are not required. However, as scuba diving is a water-based activity, being comfortable and confident in the water is definitely an advantage.
For introductory diving experiences, our instructors provide close supervision and assistance throughout the activity. For certification courses such as the Open Water Diver course, specific swimming and water-confidence requirements apply.
We use a 7.5-metre Capelli RIB, specifically equipped for our daily diving operations. RIBs are ideal dive boats as they are fast, stable and allow us to reach many of Gran Canaria’s dive sites comfortably and efficiently.
Our boat offers plenty of space for divers and their equipment and is powered by a 250 HP Suzuki outboard engine. For easy and comfortable access after the dive, the boat is equipped with a wide, sturdy diving ladder, making it much easier to climb back on board even while wearing your diving equipment.
Our boat is licensed for a maximum of 12 people in total, including our crew. When the boat is fully booked, we normally have one captain and two dive guides on board, allowing us to accommodate up to 9 divers.
We keep our dive groups manageable and organise them according to certification level, experience and the requirements of the dive, so that everyone can enjoy a safe and comfortable diving experience.

Yes, diving in the north of Gran Canaria can be arranged on request for larger groups. As conditions in the north can be more affected by wind, waves and swell, these trips are always subject to suitable weather and sea conditions.
We recommend contacting us well in advance if you are interested in diving in the north. Whether a trip can take place will depend on the group size, conditions, availability and the dive sites that are suitable at the time.
We regularly visit around 20 different dive sites in the south of Gran Canaria, offering a great variety of reefs, wrecks, walls and different underwater landscapes for all experience levels.
We are also flexible and can arrange trips to additional dive sites depending on group interest, experience levels, weather and sea conditions, and availability.
For guests diving with us for several days, we always try to offer as much variety as possible and avoid repeating dive sites whenever conditions allow.
Gran Canaria Divers is located in Playa de Mogán, in the sunny south-west of Gran Canaria. Our dive centre is just 50 metres from Mogán Beach and only a few steps from the ocean.
From our centre, we can start dives directly from the shore using two different entry points: one from the beach and another via stairs on the outside of the breakwater, providing direct access to our house reef. In addition, our location gives us easy access by boat to a wide variety of dive sites along the south and south-west coast of Gran Canaria.
If you are staying elsewhere in the south of Gran Canaria, no problem – we offer a free pickup and drop-off service from the main tourist areas, making it easy to dive with us even if you are not staying in Puerto de Mogán.
We are open from Monday – Saturday 09:00 till 17:00. Sunday is our day off. Over the phone you can reach us anytime (well, any reasonable time). Sometimes, when night dives are scheduled, we are open longer in the evening.
All our staff speaks English, Spanish, and several speak also as mothertongue German, Polish and/or French and/or Italian.
Our dive centre is fully equipped to make your diving day as comfortable and convenient as possible. We have changing areas, showers and toilets, as well as dedicated areas for preparing, rinsing and storing diving equipment.
Between dives, you can relax at the centre and enjoy complimentary coffee, tea and drinking water while we prepare the equipment and tanks for the next dive.
We are located just 50 metres from Mogán Beach, with direct access to our house reef and only a short distance from our boat departure point. Full rental equipment is available at the centre, and our free pickup and drop-off service from the main tourist areas in the south of Gran Canaria makes getting to and from the dive centre easy.

We offer both shore and boat snorkeling experiences, suitable for anyone who would like to discover the underwater world of Gran Canaria without scuba diving.
Our shore snorkeling takes place close to our dive centre in Playa de Mogán. We can enter directly from Mogán Beach or use the stairs on the outside of the breakwater, giving us easy access to our house reef and its marine life.
For our boat snorkeling trips, we leave from Puerto de Mogán and travel along the beautiful south-west coast to suitable snorkeling areas with rocky formations and natural reefs. Depending on the conditions and with a little luck, you can encounter a variety of fish and occasionally rays or other marine life.
The exact snorkeling location is always selected according to the sea and weather conditions on the day to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.
There is no specific minimum age for snorkeling with us. The most important requirement is that participants are able to swim and feel comfortable in the water.
For younger children, our shore snorkeling experience is usually the most suitable option, as access to the water is easier and the activity can be adapted more comfortably to their abilities.

Yes. Diving insurance is required for scuba diving in Spain. If you already have valid diving insurance that covers your activities in Spain, you are welcome to use your own coverage.
If you do not have diving insurance, no problem – short-term diving insurance can be arranged directly through Gran Canaria Divers, with different coverage periods available depending on the length of your stay.

Yes. Gran Canaria has a hyperbaric chamber available for the treatment of diving-related emergencies, including decompression illness.
In the unlikely event of a diving emergency, the appropriate emergency procedures and medical services will be contacted immediately. As with all diving activities, having valid diving insurance is important to ensure appropriate coverage for hyperbaric treatment and other diving-related medical assistance.
Thanks to our location in the south-west of Gran Canaria, the Mogán area is well protected from the prevailing north-easterly trade winds. This means we can enjoy excellent diving conditions throughout most of the year.
There is no specific “best” season for diving – every season has something different to offer, and we operate all year round. Water temperatures and marine life vary throughout the year, making each season interesting in its own way.
As with any ocean-based activity, occasional days with stronger wind, waves or swell can occur, particularly during the winter months, but conditions in the south-west are generally very reliable for year-round diving.
Water temperatures around Gran Canaria are pleasant throughout the year, ranging from approximately 18–20°C during the cooler winter and early spring months to around 23–25°C in late summer and autumn.
The warmest water temperatures are usually experienced between August and October, while the coolest period is generally between February and April.

Visibility around Gran Canaria is generally very good throughout the year and typically ranges between 15 and 30 metres, with particularly clear days offering even better conditions.

Yes, as with any ocean activity, diving can occasionally be affected by weather and sea conditions. However, thanks to our location in the south-west of Gran Canaria, we are usually well protected from the prevailing winds and can dive throughout most of the year.
Conditions can vary considerably around the island, so if a particular dive site is not suitable, we will normally choose a safer and more comfortable alternative. Only in exceptional conditions may it be necessary to postpone or cancel diving altogether.
