Gran Canaria offers a fantastic variety of dive sites for certified divers, from colourful reefs and volcanic rock formations to wrecks, walls and deeper offshore locations. Thanks to the island’s diverse underwater landscape, scuba diving in Gran Canaria offers something for different experience levels and interests.
At Gran Canaria Divers, we choose our dive sites according to the sea and weather conditions, the certification and experience of our divers, and what they would like to see underwater. This allows us to offer enjoyable and varied diving while making the most of the conditions on each diving day.
Our dive sites around Gran Canaria include both boat dives and shore dives, with depths and conditions ranging from relaxed sites suitable for less experienced divers to deeper locations for advanced and experienced divers. Volcanic formations, reefs, drop-offs and wrecks create a varied underwater environment with plenty to explore.
The waters surrounding Gran Canaria are home to a wide range of Atlantic marine life. Depending on the dive site and season, divers may encounter rays, moray eels, octopus, barracuda, trumpetfish, cuttlefish and large schools of fish, as well as many smaller species hiding among the rocks and reefs.
Not every dive site is suitable every day. Wind, waves, currents and visibility can vary around the island, which is why we select the most appropriate locations based on the conditions and the divers in each group.
