Diving in Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria Divers is the highly rated diving center next to Mogán beach (Playa de Mogán) and Mogán harbour (Puerto de Mogán), offering quality diving guidance and instruction both from shore and from boat. Our experienced multilingual team visits with you the most rewarding dive sites around Mogán and further along the Southwest Gran Canaria coast as well as selected sites in the East and North of the island. With your safety and fun being our main objectives, we will make your stay in this sunniest place of Europe a success, and with our PADI courses we will develop you into the best diver possible.

The Center

Gran Canaria Divers was founded in 2011 in its present location set up with all the necessary facilities, technical installations needed to run a medium-sized diving operation, equipment constantly kept up-to-date for the safety and comfort of its customers, hot water showers, a shop and a teaching room.

The center’s main advantage is its location a few steps from our two principal coastal entry points, i.e. the South-Eastern (or left) part of Mogán beach (Playa de Mogán) and stairs at the outer side of the, again South-Eastern, breakwater. This convenience at a coast protected from the mainly North-Eastern winds of Gran Canaria is well appreciated especially by our younger and older divers and snorkelers.

Diving suits

Last not least, we use our 9-seater minibus either to transport divers to the mooring of our 7.5 RIB in Mogán harbour or to visit coast dive sites in the East or North of Gran Canaria.

Puerto de Mogán

Puerto de Mogán

Puerto de Mogán (Mogán harbour), comprising both Playa de Mogán (Mogán beach) and the harbour, is part of the bigger municipality Mogán, stretching from Arguineguín in the West to Veneguera in the East. It’s the sunniest place in Europe with lots of restaurants and cafés along the beach promenade and the harbour, as well as apartments, hostels and hotels.

The two parts of Mogán’s closest coastal village,

  • Puerto de Mogán with the harbour and its “Little Venice” complex of apartments and townhouses along the harbour and some canals in the South-West and
  • Playa de Mogán in the South-East with a wide beach and lively beach promenade

have the advantage of an easy direct access to the airport, the capital Las Palmas and other sea resorts via the new GC-1 motorway.

Puerto de Mogán

The harbour is used by local fishermen, lots of yachts and regular ferries to other Southern towns. It is also a preferred stop-over of yachts crossing the Atlantic to America. In the harbour are also stationed glass-bottom boats and a yellow submarine, offering to see some of the underwater world without being a diver. Also our 7.5 RIB with a 200 HP Suzuki motor is moored in Mogán harbour.

At the South-Eastern corner of Mogán beach very near to our center some short stairs at the breakwater outside and the beach itself are our two main coast entry points for diving and snorkeling.

Puerto de Mogán

If you want to enjoy your vacation on a beach, Mogán is your ideal destination. Mogán is known for having the best climate in Europe thanks to its privileged geographical location. It offers visitors sunshine practically all year long, with day temperatures not falling below 20 ᵒC in winter, water temperatures not below 19 ᵒC.

Mogán is a fishing town that also has large areas of cultivation. It produces extraordinary gastronomic products among which are the great quality and variety of avocados and mangoes as well as the different marine species and fish that you can taste when they are freshly caught by our fishermen.
