El Cabrón (Marine Reserve)

A road trip of approximately 40 minutes from Puerto de Mogán brings us to the underwater nature reserve “Reserva Marina Arinaga” or more often called “El Cabrón”. The last part of the trip is off-road. Many dive centers don’t want to go there since their equipment and cars get worn out fast. But we feel it’s worth it and we do it for our clients. If you dive with us, you can be sure you will dive the best dive sites on Gran Canaria in El Cabrón.

El Cabron is one of only three marine reserves in the Canary Islands. It was classed as a site of special scientific interest by the European Union in 2011. In this area you can make eight totally different dives. There are four points of entry and exit to the water where you can at each do two different dives. Every dive will surprise you with the volcanic bottom composition. There are lots of caverns, swim troughs, holes, caves, drop-offs, arches … Since it is a marine reserve boat traffic and commercial fishing are not allowed in the area.
